چکیده

The present study aimed to describe and compare the histomorphological histochemical structures ventriculus in Goose(Anser anser) Guinea fowls (Numidia meleagris). work was carried out on twenty apparently clinically healthy birds obtained from a supplier Baghdad city. They were allocated two equal groups of each type bird. utilized for histological investigations their organ. After anesthesia killing birds, abdominal cavity dissected, identified proper specimens its walls prepared. samples designated staining fixed solution bruin's fixative, while others general examination (10%) neutral buffered formalin. processing, sections stained with (2.5 PH) Alcian- PAS combination, periodic acid Schiff, Masson Trichrome, Hematoxylin Eosin stains. This elucidates that microscopic construct similar species. consists three tunicates (serosa, muscularis, mucosa), whereas submucosa is absent. wall showed some significant differences morphometric measurements. mucosa coated thick layer cuticles organized as wavy clear pink line parallel mucosal surface folds. simple cuboidal-columnar epithelium covered mucosa, which many proprial glands (simple tubular type) are lined by cuboidal epithelium, opens into crypts between A well-developed muscular comprised smooth muscle fibers layers inner circular outer longitudinal. Serosa composed loose connective tissue mesothelium. Mean thickness Cuticle, length folds, goose significantly higher than guinea fowl; these may be due variation diet. AB-PAS combined (2.5-PH) stains, cuticle layer, lining, gastric positive reaction Study normal structure Gizzard avian species, local male fowl meleagris) geese (Anser anser). Also Comparative histomorphological, histomorphometric measurements different species (Guinea geese). Keywords: Histomorphological, Histochemical, Ventriculus, fowls, Geese

Juvenile Greylag Geese (Anser anser) Discriminate between Individual Siblings

Social species that maintain individualised relationships with certain others despite continuous changes in age, reproductive status and dominance rank between group members ought to be capable of individual recognition. Tests of "true" individual recognition, where an individual recognises unique features of another, are rare, however. Often kinship and/or familiarity suffice to explain dyadic...

Isolation of various Arcobacter species from domestic geese (Anser anser).

In this study, the prevalence and distribution of various Arcobacter spp. were investigated in samples taken from the cloacae of healthy domestic geese raised in Turkey. A membrane filtration technique with a non-selective blood agar was employed after enrichment in Arcobacter enrichment broth (AEB) to isolate a wide range of Arcobacter spp. In addition, the isolates were characterized phenotyp...

Stress assessment in captive greylag geese (Anser anser).

Chronic stress--or, more appropriately, "allostatic overload"--may be physiologically harmful and can cause death in the most severe cases. Animals in captivity are thought to be particularly vulnerable to allostatic overload due to artificial housing and group makeup. Here we attempted to determine if captive greylag geese (Anser anser), housed lifelong in captivity, showed elevated levels of ...

Karyotype and C-banding pattern of the domestic geese Anser anser populations (Aves: Anatidae) in Egypt.

The karyotype and C-banding pattern of domestic Greylag geese Anser anser anser populations collected from five localities in El Minia, Egypt, that have either whitish grey or white feather color patterns were described. All populations have a diploid number of 2n= 80 chromosomes. Of the 80 chromosomes, 10 pairs, including ZW chromosomes, were macrochromosomes and the remaining 30 pairs were mi...
